All children will be offered a place at our Step Ahead session for one year before they start school. These sessions currently run on a Thursday afternoon.

Initially the sessions are for the children to interact with their peers and to help them prepare for the transition into “Big School”. The Step Ahead sessions have a little more structure and include activities in all areas of learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage, including a P.E. session and an outing during the summer term.

Our main links for transition to school is with Buttsbury Infant School, however we also work closely with all local primary schools to ensure the transition from Pre-School to Infant School runs smoothly.
